Thousands of small breweries are set to descend on Earls Court next week for the Great British Beer Festival. Organised by the Campaign for Real Ale, the festival runs from Tuesday 3rd August until Saturday 7th August, and will see a wide selection of both British and international beers, ciders and real ales on offer to keep visitors occupied.
Festival organisers have put together an action packed schedule of events for this years festival, with live music and tutored beer tastings on offer, as well as the opportunity to sample a variety of foods including traditional pub food .
Jamie Allen, brewery manager at Yorkshires Rudgate Brewery, whose Ruby Mild won the 2009 Supreme Champion Beer of Britain award, described the festival as the biggest event on the calendar. It is unlikely to be all work for Mr Allen though, who although eager to meet other brewers and new customers, is sure to try out a few rival beers during the festival.
Tickets are priced at £8 on the door for CAMRA members or £6 in advance, and £10 on the door for members of the public or £8 in advance.
