There are two main brands of Danish beers: Carlsberg and Tuborg. However, Carlsberg has the monopoly on beer since it acquired Tuborg in 1970.
Despite the dominance of Carlsberg, there are many regional breweries and microbreweries (approximately 300) that are producing a variety of stouts and IPAs.
However, the most popular type of beer in Denmark is still pale lager.
