Greece is famous for wine and ouzo, less so for Greek beers. However, there are a number of breweries that produce good quality beers across the country.
The most popular beer in Greece is Mythos, which has a light straw colour. Other popular brands are Alpha and Fix.
Athenian Brewery produces Alpha Hellenic which is exclusively made of Greek barley and has a light taste. Fix Hellas is the oldest Greek beer as it was first produced in 1850.
As well the main larger breweries, the country and it’s islands also has a number of microbreweries producing some beers that are served around the country, while others are on only available locally.
